So, when you are sick with something like a cold, what food do you like to turn to, to make yourself feel better?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)1/3 cup rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 can Progresso Chicken Rice Soup
juice of 2 lemons (or to taste)
2 eggs, separated
Cook the rice in the broth; when it's done, add the soup. Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form; add the yolks and beat until well blended. Add the lemon juice, beating constantly. With a ladle, slowly add about a cup of hot broth from the pot, beating constantly. Pour the egg/broth/lemon mixture back in the pot. Cook over very low heat (turn off the heat but leave the pot on the burner), stirring constantly, until it coats a spoon.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-04 12:04 am (UTC)(link)And Jell-O. It's been a thing of mine since I was little. I was probably eight or nine when I got super sick, and I didn't really eat anything for a little over a month. When I finally began to feel better, I only wanted to eat Jell-O. It's been a comfort food when I'm sick ever since then.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)I'm also big on honey lemon tea when my throat hurts. I'll get large ones at Tim Hortons all day every day until my throat feels better.
