#2 are you one of those anime fans that thinks Disney rips everything off that they've ever done ever and if anyone dares disagree with you they're "brainwashed"? Because you people irritate me. "There is nothing new under the sun", as it were. Disney is hardly innocent in some cases, but certainly not all of them. This? This strikes me as coincidence. Sorry, does this make me deserving of the dehumanizing term "sheeple"? Damn. Oh well, so long as you feel superior in your conspiracy theories and paranoia.

Oh, is that what they're saying? Because I had no fucking clue what they were saying.

It would be Utena as the one 'ripping off' though. Hunchback came out in 1996 and Utena in 1997. The manga for Utena started the exact same month HoND came out.

Even if it were an homage it's such a small thing (red dress, not-white, sidekick with one earring, green eyes) that it's ridiculous to insinuate it's a ripoff. Plus the characters could not be less alike.

But uh yeah, it's really stretching it to even call it an homage to be honest.

I was gonna say, I think I remember both far back enough that HoND could've come out before or around the same time as Utena.

It's a weird coincidence, at best. Shit happens. OP might want to get their blood pressure checked, because it sounds like they stress themselves out over nothing.

I'm guessing it's a parody of the whole '2 shows have similar things and are done in a similar way, look at the comparisons'. (All in all I think they're kidding.)
