It happens sometimes on ONTD (mainly with anything that involves "social justice" and if you disagree that white cis males are devils) but it's far worse on ONTD_P.

Actually I think it's gotten better in the past while. There was kind of a schism a couple of years ago, when a lot of the most extreme elements took umbrage with the fact that the mods' enforcement of the "no personal attacks" rule applied to everybody, and they left en masse. I feel like things have gotten a bit friendlier since then.

The mods on ONTD_P are the worst little shitstains of them all. I once saw a girl get banned for politely saying an opinion that didn't follow the SJW hivemind - and it wasn't like, racist or sexist or anything. Seriously, one reason I left Livejournal was because I couldn't stand seeing that shitty community advertised on the homepage all the time.

unless those old mods are gone, I can't see how it could've gotten better.

ONTD isn't all SJW all the time though. Plenty of posts where it doesn't arise. And there are (non-political) posts where ONTD can be very hive-mindey but without necessarily harassing people who disagree.

Also, if you're not American (or possibly British), you're probably Wrong - that is, if you exist at all. It never fails to amaze me when I see posts about one American person or other getting dozens and dozens of comments, while issues affecting thousands of non-US people barely get a handful of comments, if they get posted about at all.

Even speaking as someone who leans to the left nine times out of ten, I miss the old ONTD_P. Before one could have differing political views and still have a rational discussion with one another.

Now it's become an extreme liberal echo chamber, where anyone who dares to disagree with the current agenda is attacked and mocked. They even harassed the sole conservative moderator to the point where she was forced to resign.

If everyone agrees with each other, what's the point?
