Epithets. "Fucking epithets," said the tall policeman to his diminutive brown haired wife.

"I agree," replied the buxom blonde who had been eavesdropping on the long-married couple's conversation.

Yeah, these too.

Also, "the blackette" for someone with black hair, "the pinkette" for someone with pink hair, "the blunette" for someone with blue hair.

Yep D: Character in my fandom has pink hair, and I see this so much. And I've seen blunette once or twice but I can't remember where.

The former is actually quite common in certain sections of the anime fandom.

Not that I read these kinds of fics all the time, though! <_<

...I kind of want a superhero named The Pinkette now.

...I've never seen it, but I think blunette sounds really clever, actually. XD

OMFG YES. I FORGOT THIS.

God, I was reading a fic the other day that was using epithets that I don't even think applied to characters. There has been no mention of the particular character being Texan that I can recall. I even checked the wiki. I think the author just made it up based on his southern accent. BUT, his accent isn't Texan! Ugh.

Do you hate them always or just when it is out of character?

THIS IS MY #1 PEEVE. It's not so hard to say "he said" or "she said" or "Bob said," and it's sooooo much less distracting than trying to describe your characters a million ways! Just tell me who's talking and doing shit!

Ughhhh, 5 million times agreed. This is one habit I haven't been able to talk my writer boyfriend out of. :c
