Re: Anyone good at trig?

I just can't keep the terms straight in my head. Which is the sine and the cosine and the tangent and this is something over something, and that other thing is the reciprocal, and ugh.

They not teach you SOH-CAH-TOA?

Sine: Opposite over Hypotenuse
Cosine: Adjacent over Hypotenuse
Tangent: Opposite over Adjacent

Sounds like a Skyrim shout

I loled because it's true.

I'm surprised to hear when ANYONE doesn't teach SOHCAHTOA. I cited it to myself all the way through university math.

I just added this to because that's the only way I still remember it 10 years after taking trig.

Try "Some Old Horse Came A-Hopping Through Our Alley". It's been five years and it's still in my head, so maybe that's be easier to remember?

SOH CAH TOA

Sine-opposite over hypotenuse

Cosine-adjacent over hypotenuse

Tangent-opposite over adjacent

Easiest way I remember them still.
