A lot of people, I'm afraid. :( When my grandpa was in the cancer ward for the last time, someone stole his wedding ring. That thing was worth a fortune, and his mother had made it (she was a jeweler.)

Yeah, I'm actually not surprised but I am still horrified. My mom worked in a nursing home and so did this grandmother, and I've heard all the horror stories. And she's had other stuff stolen before too. Ugh that's disgusting.

I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else there, but if it does I wish the culprit would get caught in the act. No one should be allowed to get away with that.

I'm so sorry. Can you file a complaint? Hell, send a tip to the media even... not usually my thing but in this case, it's warranted.

They're investigating it but I don't know about getting the media involved. It actually is quite common, unfortunately, and also the last thing those poor people need is news cameras all over the place.

That is fucking horrible.

I hope the investigation you mentioned downthread finds something, and if not I hope the culprit gets bitten by a rabid dog. Preferably one owned by an old woman. And that the culprit is unable to press charges against said dog/woman.

But mostly I hope the investigation finds something and your grandma gets her ring back.

Oh man that is absolutely horrid, I am so sorry for your grandmother. My nan had money stolen by one of her carers once and thankfully that was it, the carer was fired since we found out about it but at least it wasn't something that can be irreplaceable like jewelry. :(
