With dialogue I just...really, really don't like the hammed up over the top stuff a lot of people do because they don't know like how 'snipped and to-the-point most dialogue is!" [Or something along those lines is reason I've mostly seen.]
Too much of either? I quit reading.
*This doesn't apply to stuff that ends up relating to the plot later on, of course
