this is why I'm glad I decided to go into Montessori education after all. My kids don't do all that well on standardized tests (we always get 'acceptable' markings as a school, but never higher) but damned if they can't do quadratic trinomials and cook and sew and play instruments and tell you all about different kinds of frogs... Poor kids in the public education system :(

I went to Montessori school for several years... SO grateful, seriously. I have no intention of going into teaching (love education, the classroom not so much), but if I ever were to be convinced, it would be Montessori. Although as far as I knew they only went up to 8th grade... do some go higher than that?
