1. Too much dialogue. Writers who are more concerned with writing snappy dialogue than with telling a coherent story.

2.Writers who go overboard with the "show, don't tell" concept to the point where there's not enough clear explanation of what the hell is going on.

3.Writers who try too hard to be funny and witty, at the expense of just telling a good story.

4.Writers who think that "awkward" or humiliating situations are always hilarious; over-use of "cringe humor."

#2 is a big one, to me. I think a lot of people would benefit from using a fairly simple, straightforward writing style and mastering the task of telling a coherent story before trying to get fancy. Cool it with the metaphors and the "poetic" language.

Agreed so much on 2. It's like they've read somewhere that Infodumps Are Bad, Mmmmkay? and so they dole out exposition in tiny dribs and drabs, so infrequently that you have to take notes to figure out what's going on. Exposition can be done well, ffs.

Fucking cringe humor. That is one of my worst squicks. I can't even watch some videos because they give me so much second hand embarrassment.
