Gee, I love the Uchi I have (Phoebe). I didn't know they started in WW...

They didn't. I think what OP is saying is:

- OP started Animal Crossing with WW
- Uchi villagers remind OP of herself in her WW days
= Uchi villagers give OP Animal Crossing nostalgia.

I have Phoebe too, and I like her a lot. She always gives me medicine when I talk to her after being stung by bees. None of my other jerk neighbours do that!

I've got Sylvia in my New Leaf village, and I love her. She gave me cherries - she can do no wrong in my book. :P

(Anonymous) 2013-09-05 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel the same way. The Uchi in my town is Phoebe, who is (in my opinion) one of the prettiest Uchi villagers (I mean gosh she's a PHOENIX of all things). She reminds me of a few of my favorite female characters from other games, so we're pretty good friends. I'm still trying to get her picture, though. She's given me medicine when I got stung by a bee, so that's instant cool points.

If anything, Uchis are more tomboyish than the other three villager types, so they're not as dainty and refined (snooty and some of the normals) or cute and girly (peppy and the rest of the normals). They dress and act like a tomboy would. It makes me sad that not a lot of fans like them very much. Finding FANART of them is near impossible, in comparison to the other types (including the other new male type).

Whoa, who doesn't like the uchi ladies? I have Agnes and she's a total sweetheart. If a bit mercenary at times. :P

(Though it is a bit of a pet peeve of mine that "uchi" was the word English-speaking fandom decided to use for that personality type. What would have been wrong wih something like "big sis"?)

(Anonymous) 2013-09-05 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Weird! I've got Frita (and love her to pieces) and a lot of the villagers on my dream list are Uchi: Hazel, Muffy and Fuschia.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I have Frita too! She is absolutely the best ever for sure. Who could dislike uchi villagers??

(Anonymous) 2013-09-05 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, I didn't know people didn't like them! I have Pashmina and she's one of my favorite villagers.... though I was frustrated with her because she sold me fake paintings and wanted to leave my town a few days after she moved in (but we're buddies now so it's okay).

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Pashmina did the same thing to me! Oh, Pashmina. I love you anyhow!

I just looked this up and they sound adorable?? I mean come on how can ac players hate them when they basically are uchi? They in fact sound like the tumblr equivalent

(Anonymous) 2013-09-05 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, Uchi villagers are just okay in my book. I had one Uchi in my town, Tammy, and I let her move out. She was all right, but nothing to write home about.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-05 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Which personality type is something to write home about then? I can't stand the smug or cranky villagers because they're assholes and the jock villagers are dudebros, imo.

I've got one cranky who's a real sweetheart sometimes: Cesar.

Cranky villagers are wonderful. If my whole town were cranky and snooty with a couple bonus lazy ones, I'd be happy.

The heck? I love my Uchi. I didn't even know it was a type at first, I just knew I really liked Fuchsia a lot, then started doing research and found out. I just love her outlook on stuff. Like one night I was in the convenience store, and Fuchsia randomly started talking about how convenience store clerks deserve more respect than they get, because they work really hard. As a former 3rd shifter at a convenience store, that made me just fall in love with her. And then there was the time she wanted me to catch a soft-shelled turtle because she thought Pekoe looked like one. XD And she's giving me advice on how to fight and stuff - it's great! How can anyone hate Uchis?

Secret 8 - Animal Crossing

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-09-05 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the character Charlies from the videogame series "Animal Crossing. He is a cartoonish bear with green fur, yellow cheeks, paws, feet and ears and short brown hair. Her eyes are half-lidded and her lids are pink. She is wearing a red vest with white lines.]

The rest of the Animal Crossing fandom seems to dislike the Uchi villagers (especially Charlise) but I love them!

I was introduced to the series through Wild World when I was a student at university and everything about the Uchi girls from their sleep pattern (staying up late and sleeping in) to the things they talk about reminds me of when I was a student myself. They remind me so much of my initial days playing Animal Crossing and the whole student experience. I just can't hate them because of this.

Picture related, Charlise is my Uchi and I really like her, even if no one else does.

Actually, Charlise is a she. And "Uchi" is basically a Japanese term for "big sis".

Thanks!

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Charlise! I have her in my town and she's awesome. /useless contribution

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Charlise is my uchi too and I love her <3 she was a perfect addition to my town

I didn't mind uchis until...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Dierdre kept telling me "WOO way to MAN UP girlfriend!" every time I sold or traded her something that she wanted. She kept saying it so often that I started to dislike her and uchis. Like no. I'm giving/trading it to you because I'm nice. Not because I'm being cool and "man-ing up", whatever the fuck that is suppose to mean.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-06 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
i haven't seen any uchi hate.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-07 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
ok but Katt is legitimately the best villager
