Sorry but no. His female characters suffer and interact with men SO THEY'RE NOT STRONG ENOUGH AND JOSS IS CLEARLY MASTURBATING TO CRYING ACTRESSES! No. Cracked is lovely but they specialize in hyperbole and this is a clear example. Is Joss perfect? No. But he's not this misogynist torture-porn monster some people seem to think he is. Female characters are allowed to suffer, cry, show weakness, and love and rely on their male equals. It does not suddenly make them less of a strong character and I'm tired of that bullshit. We do not need a 2d GI Jane character with no emotions whatsoever to have a perfect "strong" stereotype. How about acknowledging that strength can be in weakness or love or the ability to rely on others? I think he shows that just fine AND ALSO IN MALE CHARACTERS. They show just as much weakness and emo-ness and need of others.

That's just it: I think it's incredibly sexist that female character are just not allowed to me anything other than "strong". Look at all those male characters who are allowed to be damaged, broken, ugly-and-in-tears and just fucking pathetic - weakness is what makes an interesting character. The fact that some self proclaimed "feminists" keep complaining about women being allowed the same position as male characters, that they don't always have to be better, prettier, more flawless and more amazing than anyone else (as they do in real life when they want the same amount of recognition as men) is a big step backwards in feminism to me.

Totally agree. There's nothing remotely feminist about those kinds of double standards.

Holy mother of typos, batman. Sorry for that mess, autocorrect is evil.
