Are you talking about that post that's going around Tumblr with what looks like a bunch of modernized character design sheets? Because I've seen a number of people saying that those are fan-made and have nothing to do with the reboot.

Well, don't I feel awkward. ._.;;

Eh, they're pretty good designs so it's easy to see why someone might have mistaken them for the real thing, and unfortunately once something's entrenched on Tumblr it's really hard to debunk it effectively.

I did some digging and the pictures are by a Pixiv artist named Makacoon:

I've been seeing that as well, and didn't get it so I assumed it was something from pixiv.
I follow some sm tumblrs and none of them have said anything, so I don't think it's what op said.

That article just says it won't be a straight retelling, though. It doesn't say anything about next-gen stuff.

I never said anything about next gen. I said Rini and Hotaru would be older in it. If I'm remembering correctly, didn't none of the other senshi have children?

I don't understand why you're asserting this Chibiusa and Hotaru being older..? The article didn't mention them, only that it won't be a remake of the older anime, and it'd explore new plots. I'm assuming what this means is that it will have much more stuff that is from the actual manga, whereas the original anime had a great deal of filler and didn't get to fully touch on everything. Or they come up with entirely new stuff.

Hotaru does have some aging between dying and being reborn and then remembering everything in the series, and Chibiusa also grew to be like those girls from the quartet, but that's about it as far as canon goes.

People probably grabbed it originally from this post on Crunchyroll. The article clearly states it's fanart but I wouldn't be surprised if some people managed to somehow miss that part and then jumped to conclusions.

I've never seen that before, lol. I never said it was about their kids, either. It was announced that they weren't making it a straight reboot and that it was coming out in winter, instead of summer.

Not making a straight reboot doesn't equal Chibiusa and Hotaru being older teens, though, which I think is where you're confusing people. None of the bits of info we have so far mentions that those two will be older -- or in it at all, for that matter. There's plenty of ways to make a new series that's not a straight reboot but doesn't change any ages (see: the live action series, for one example).
