On the one hand, I'm a big fan of V for Vendetta, and I think V-like measures are the only reasonable way of destroying a government so powerful that it can literally control what citizens are and aren't allowed to think about. Akane could never pull that off, but Kogami could, so I want to root for Kogami.
On the other hand, I have the feeling Urobichi himself agrees with Akane's philosophy--it gets more description and more monologues devoted to it in Season 1, whereas Kogami's philosophy is more implied. That means that he's unlikely to allow Kogami to achieve meaningful change in a way inconsistent with Akane's philosophy.* Thus, if I want to hope for an ending where Sybil is destroyed, I most likely have to hope for an ending where Akane lives.
* It's possible he'll let Kogami or someone else violently destroy Sybil, then show the aftereffects in the form of social chaos and a great many dead innocents. If he actually does that, my opinion of him will rise a notch. (Or better yet, Akane finds a way to lawfully remove Sybil, and innocents die anyway--I don't think there's any way to remove Sybil at this point without at least sparking riots.)
