GoT third season spoilers below

(Anonymous) 2013-09-07 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Just saw the third season of GoT. The first two thirds of the season was so boring that I was quite happy when they killed off half the main characters (I wish they had finished off a few more, actually). I'm cheering for the zombies now (and half doubt I'll be bothering with the fourth season at all). Am I alone in this? I don't know because I've been avoiding spoilers, but is everyone else still enthralled? The emo-ing and the endless walking nagged me the worst (LotR flashbacks, not in a good way).

or white walkers or what have you.

I care more about ranting about it than for the characters at this point. (WTF, self?)

i was actually joking about how this whole thing could apply to the series called the walking dead but nvm lol

I did suspect that, but was still in rant mode. Getting better now, thanks. ;)

Also, I've only seen the first season of TWD, so I still want more. But I guess it's natural progression for most tv-series? (Can't think of any exceptions atm.)

I think you should try the books... not perfect but miles better in making you care for the characters IMO. I would probably have hated the third season if I didn't already know and love the characters from the books. I'm not even sure I'll watch the fourth one because it's gearing up to be a mess.

Third season was the equivalent of my least favourite part of the books, so far. I really disliked the first half of the third book, which is what turned into the third season. It took me a couple of months to read just that, but when I pushed myself into the second half of the book... I couldn't stop. So I'm really excited for s04, because if it follows the books in terms of pace, it's going to be really entertaining.

That said I still think the first season of GoT was the best, hands down.
