So, er, I started work on this fic for a kink meme years ago. I haven't touched it in about a year, and before that I hadn't touched it for months. I'd really like to get started on it again, but by now the kink meme is not as active as it used to be, and although we have a daily update roundup so people would SEE any new installments, so it's not like "omg no one would comment and it's not worth writing if no one comments" egotism... I really need to reread everything I wrote earlier to refresh myself before I continue.

And if I reread everything, I'll want to revise and edit some stuff, because I didn't have a clear idea of what I was doing yet when I started and it needs to be fixed up. And possibly starting to post from the top, fixing little things here and there, would help get me motivated to get right back at it. But I can't do that as an anonymous poster, since anons can't edit comments. Also, if I don't finish it, it would still be nice to be able to archive it somewhere, because even what I had so far was pretty long and pretty well-received.

Thing is, even de-anoning on FINISHED stuff on this kink meme has gotten me some crap in the past. They're really serious about anonymity. And while I refuse to let fandom bullies keep me from claiming my own finished works after the fact, when any feedback has already been given and received without names attached to color it (which I actually prefer!), there is a point to the preference that everyone stays anonymous until the fic's done.

But I'm not sure I'm going to be posting more of it on the meme anyway, so archiving the WIP seems to be a decent idea (marked clearly as a WIP that may remain unfinished, of course).

I dunno... thoughts? Advice? I don't want to invite stupid drama again, but I would like to do something about this huge unfinished thing that's just been sitting there for ages. :P

a) edit everything and post it as a revised edition and continue from there still as anon

or

b) deanon with a new screenname, explain that you got this account just for this fic to archive it and that it's not connected to any internet identity you have
