10. I think the real tragedy here is that people actually listen to Answerman. :(

36. I LOVE THAT MOVIE. ♥ And I still have "Flying My Colors" in my iTunes. And listen to it at random. wheeeee nostalgia~

I listened to Answerman...and bought the series. Answerman convinced me to buy Princess Tutu. He's not Anti-Tutu by a long shot.

I'm not sure what exactly it is, but something about Answerman annoys me irrationally, to the point where I can't get through one of his columns unless I close my eyes and imagine punching him in the face.

The way he puts things tends to be pretty in-your-face and argumentative, and while I often agree with him, sometimes I think he comes across as being TOO harsh. Way too harsh. So I can see where it comes from. Still, a lot of his points tend to be valid, and he's an ADVOCATE for Princess Tutu (that line was actually from a response saying it was a great show, just that the girly exterior scares people off from it). So, yeah, I can understand why you'd feel that way, but I kinda feel like I have to defend him here.

Fair enough.

It could be that half of the columns of his that I've read had him screaming about the evils of fansubs, and while I can understand and even agree with some of the points there, I kind of go -_____- because I've fallen in love with a lot of series via fansubs that I would have no way of otherwise getting, and I would happily throw money at any company that picked them up to release them over here, so it kind of flips my mental switch from "you may have a point that I could agree with" to "STFU, douchebag!" ^^;

That's understandable, too, although I kinda get where he's coming from--I think Princess Tutu's sales might've been damaged by fansubbers that refused to buy the discs, because it seems like there's a lot more fans of the show than their are people that have the DVDs. (Of course, to could just be that they didn't hear about it until the DVDs were hard to find. Hard to know.)

And although Zac gets pretty dramatic about that issue, I don't think he's completely against fansubs--he himself watches them. He's just against them when fans don't buy DVDs for shows they liked on fansub, I think...he needs to be a little more clear about that. ^^;;
