3. Why? Heaven forbid we talk about our interests elsewhere, nevermind that it's not embarrassing to most people. And if it is, it shouldn't matter because it's something we like. That's how you make friends in real life. If you don't talk about it, how will you ever know if you have something like that in common with someone?

That happens everywhere, I'm afraid. The best remedy is to spam your character around. Get them to make friends, and people will want to talk to them. Also, plan out your posts to make them interesting. People won't comment if there's nothing to comment on.
