10. ...Well he is seriously missing out. And I know how you feel -- a male friend of mine won't watch the series because of the name and the fact that it has to do with ballet (and he thinks less of me because I DO like it, as if being 22 and liking Princess Tutu is something I should be ashamed of. Whatever). Does a fantastic story and wonderful characters mean anything more than a first impression nowadays? And personally, I loved how they included ballet, references to plays/operas/stories and all sorts of things. Highly engaging and interesting. It's really, really sad to see so many people turn away from the series due to such things, but I guess there will always be some people you just can't get through to. ...Pardon my rant.

34. EARTHBOUND FTW! Oh man, if I could get my hands on an SNES right now, I would absolutely love to play that again even if I've already played it a half a dozen times. I really loved the Gigas battle too, though. I didn't get nightmares from it, but I thought it was a really neat idea. I also had fun finally being able to beat the shiz out of Pokey before he could run away for once.

YES it's just so well done! and there's always ROMs ;D

But dude, the battle is creepy enough on its own, but if you know all the trivia and stuff behind it that just makes it even worse :< Like how in Giygas'... I think third phase (where he's all multiplied and stuff), the black space around him forms the shape of a human fetus. Stuff like that. Not to mention what the battle itself is based off of...

(sorry if this double posts)

It really is. <3 Oh, I forgot about those. I'll have to search it out again, since all my ROMs were lost in a reformat.

Whoa, I had no idea there was that much more to it. I know I didn't catch the human fetus thing. o_o I seriously need to look some of this up and play again, cause I'm really curious now. Wonder if I'll get creeped out this time. lol

Yeah, it's really freaky! :O There was some section in a Wikipedia article that had trivia on that battle and stuff, but now I can't find it. Dagnabbit.

Haha, try playing with the lights out. NIGHTMARES UP THE WAZOO

Giygas' dialogue was also inspired by Itoi's accidental trip into an adult theater when he was a kid.

Which puts "I... feel... good..." into a whole new context!

That, too! I also heard something where the static in... well, one of the songs that plays during that battle, can't remember which, but apparently you can hear "let me out of here" or something along those lines. No one's sure whether it's on purpose or a coincidence, though. I didn't hear it, personally :B

Wikipedia says it was not just wandering into an adult theater, but wandering into an adult theater and seeing a rape scene.

Jesus, I'm creeped out NOW.
