Earthbound had some seriously scary shit in it for such a cute, funny little game. The last boss was freaking disturbing, but the thing that always got me Pu's battle with the ancestor spirit thing on the mountain in Dalaam.

Where you had to stand there and let him break your arms and legs, and all your HP went away. Then he cut out your eyes and the screen went black, and then he ripped off your ears and THE SOUND TURNED OFF.

Scared the living fuck out of me when I was a kid. Still creeps me out more than almost anything in Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
