I've been occasionally addicted to some games (blame Bioware) to the point of cutting some hours off sleep just to finish them, but once I finished I could just go back to regular 3-hours max/day spent on the computer doing basically pointless stuff. Your case sounds more serious since you don't care what you're playing and now you carry the games everywhere with you.

Real life never goes anywhere fast, especially if you apply non-real world standards to it. Most of us never really *achieve* anything, though people are taught to act as if that was the case. You go to work, you meet people, you laugh, you cry and then you die. The point is to try and enjoy the moment.

So my advice? You can either try to wean yourself off gaming on your own or seek help of others. Google it, I'm sure there are many others like you. Get a cell phone with no special functions. Delete all your games.

I recommend getting in touch with real people. Try pursuing non-electronic hobbies. Think about what you liked doing when you were younger - can you take it up again?

Good luck, OP!

I'm like this, too. Not just with games - though lately it's been more games than other things - but every now and then I'll get soooo into something that I'll give over tons of time for it, but when it's over I don't immediately jump into the next thing. But I do have a baseline of spending a few hours a day doing nerdy stuff. (Basically, are you me? lol)
