Go on google. Type any random item you can think of. See if there is a store for it in your local area. Nine times out of ten, you haven't been to that store before if there is one. Go to it. Your mind will be so busy experiencing new stuff that your problems will be pushed aside for a while.

This also works with food. Is there something you want to try but didn't think you town or city has it? Google it. If it does have it, go and try it.

Broke?

See if there is any interesting festivals or gallery showings in town. I don't mean normal, let's get dress up gallery showings but down and dirty, pop/folk/punk art showings. They're usually free or cost you no more than a buck or two.

Check out your local library to see if there are any meetings or shows performing there. You will be amazed to see what libraries host. Free music. Free plays. Free author readings.
