Sure. What do you suggest?

How about we debate which country has/had the worst kid's shows growing up. The kicker? You can only make a case for your own country's awful cartoons.

So, what locally made kid's show have you come across that made you go, "What the hell is this?"

Ren and Stimpy. I think I only watched it as a kid because it came on before the new episodes of AYAOTD, but damn. I think it was worse than Cow and Chicken, even.

WAAAT? I still love those!

I enjoy Cow and Chicken, I guess for nostalgia reasons. Ren and Stimpy was...not a very kid friendly show, that's all. More insane gross out humor than anything

Okay! *rolls up sleeves* Is it okay with non-comics? If it is, I have a pair of aces here:

Lekestue (a BBC-playschool ripoff):

Pompel og Pilt:

That last one is still inducing nightmares country-wide.

Pfff, every year at a friend's birthday party, her parents would put Pompel og Pilt on. I have no idea why, because no one liked it. Still they did it every year throughout primary school.

I think that the "nobody liked it" part was what made it artsy (and even more lost on us poor kids).

Polka Dot Door, Sharon, Lois and Bram, Mr Dress-up, The Friendly Giant, The Raccoons, Today's Special, You Can't Do That on Television...

Granted, we've since inflicted the blight that is Caillou on the world, but that's WELL after my childhood, so I can ignore it.

I want Ireland to win this one. This was the best we had - the best - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auEK97OIwdE. It was a show with a very badly made puppet with wool for hair. It lived in a box. That was pretty much it.

We also had Zig and Zag, but England stole them like everything else.
