Mostly I've seen that if you ship het, you're automatically tagged as homophobic or don't support LGBT rights.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-07 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)It's really a bunch of things coming from all sides, like everyone's making these snap judgements about everyone. To some people that ship slash, someone who ships het is homophobic; to some people that ship het, someone who ships slash is misogynistic or fetishizing queerness; to some people that ship femslash, someone who ships anything but is lesbophobic; it goes on and on. It's really juvenile.
That said, my assumption is that most people fall into the "ships a little bit of everything and doesn't get embroiled in the bullshit" category, but as is always the case, it's the fringe elements that always end up screaming the loudest.
