That bothered me, too. In Rowling's head all teenage love lasts forever somehow.

Harry and Ginny's "romance" was the worst. Harry's transition from seeing her as Ron's little sister to girl I want to date was abrupt-to-nonexistent, and Ginny revolved around Harry to the point of obsession. Even her dating other guys was to somehow make herself more desirable to Harry.
