Re: What's a movie with characters who so blatantly caused their own problems as to lose all sympath

This has happened to me a bunch, but the only film/play that comes to mind is A Raisin in the Sun after Walter gave up the money his family was going to use to buy a house in a nice neighborhood to a person who was very obviously a con artist. I was so pissed off. I mean, I felt sorry for all of the other characters (like his wife who was dealing with the stress of an unexpected pregnancy and his mother who had just retired) but I was like "fuck you walter" and at least the other characters were as mad as I was. Still, the play had a hopeful ending at least and it seemed like Walter was going to become more responsible.

I think I took it personally because I've had family members who are reckless with money that they can't afford to lose and others have suffered for it.
