Re: What's a movie with characters who so blatantly caused their own problems as to lose all sympath

Wow, I generally feel this a lot when I watch movies but at the moment I'm drawing a blank.

Um, maybe Tron 2? Flynn was an idiot. So was his double, and his son, and the chick. Generally I symphonized with no one in that movie except maybe Daft Punk.

I love that movie for the aesthetics, but I can't think of it without being all, "HOW DOES NO ONE WHO IS MAKING A COMPUTER MOVIE KNOW HOW PAGERS WORK?!"

XDD It bugged me so much when he was like, "It was from your father's number..."

I was yelling at the screen all, "Yeah because it's a pager you idiot, you could put in whatever the hell numbers you want!!"

That and who the heck was paying the hydro bill for the arcade for the last twenty years? Though at least that could be explained away as the son having kept paying it for nostalgia or something.

Too many plot holes to name and too many characters whom I didn't bother to learn their names. A sad combination.

It is a fun two-hour Daft Punk music video.

There we go. That makes it better and understandable.

...um.

Who? Are we talking about the guy in white?

The mute reprogrammed eponymous character.

...I'm not expecting it to be a common sympathy, mind. It's a pretty bad movie if Anis Cheurfa's ass couldn't save it.

Spoilers for Tron: Legacy

[personal profile] forgottenjester 2013-09-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh. Tron. I forgot he had a name other than Tron.

Yeah, he could be sympathetic. I think the only reason I don't care more about him is because we don't get to see a lot of him or his struggle. Which is sad. I would rather the movie had been about him. As it is you can see I barely remember him.
