Re: What's a movie with characters who so blatantly caused their own problems as to lose all sympath

Labyrinth. I always wanted to shake that girl til her teeth rattled. Whiny little emo brat got everything she asked for, as Jareth pointed out, and all she did the whole film was run around yelling "Not fair!" Gah.

Also, Anakin Skywalker. Yeah, yeah, he was manipulated and bad influences and all that, but goddamn, dude, about the time Palpatine said "Hey, go slaughter all those little Jedi kids!" I really think he should've gotten a clue that the guy was not a healthy role model. And pretty much every single thing he did toward the end, after Padme and Obi-Wan arrived at the lava lake, was just...stupid. Really, really stupid.

...The fact that Sarah is a spoiled, selfish brat who needs to get over herself is the point...?

True enough, but it doesn't make me like her any better.

Fair enough, then. I've just seen far too many people not get that and I get a little side-eyey about it. 'Course, most of the Not Getting It ones are people who are far too old to be identifying with how ~oppressed~ Sarah is but still do.
