Aside from the fact that it's out of the norm that any couple that meet when they're 11 will be truluv4eva (though I do know couples - in their 60s - like that, and in this case because of the events of the books all three will have a certain bond with each other that no one else can have) in the books Harry's POV never showed any romantic interest towards Hermione. (And Hermione never showed anything other than sisterly love, concern and exasperation for Harry.) And even if they had a 'I pull your pigtails because I secretly like you' dynamic, which is really not the best basis for a long lasting relationship, Ron and Hermione definitely had a thing for each other - see the entire Yule Ball sequence in GoF.

And wasn't Ron's arc in DH about getting over his Harry-insecurities (for the gazillionth time)? Also, I can kind of see Harry liking Ginny because she is kind of like Girl!Ron, but less annoying (I say this as a Ron lover). Anyway, I don't see Ron being insecure about Harry and Hermione's relationship once Harry started going out with Ginny.

Yes, and Ron cared about what happened to the House elves, Ron took Hermione out on the dance floor at the wedding, and his return. I guess I can see why H/Hr shippers would use Ron's insecurities as a means for Hermione to end up with Harry post-series, but that's ignoring a lot of growing up he did toward the end. Which I guess most Harmonians have no problem doing.

LOL, re: Ginny, I get why Harry liked her in a superficial sense, but I think the reason why she was less annoying was because we didn't see as much of her. I don't hate H/G but man that was the epitome of 'show, don't tell!'
