Re: What's a movie with characters who so blatantly caused their own problems as to lose all sympath

I just watched Robocop, and for ages I thought that Murphy was this really awesome cop who died tragically in the line of duty.

Imagine my surprise when he and his partner went into an enemy stronghold without calling for backup, deliberately split up, and generally act like they both had a deathwish.

Now, if the film had them try to call for backup but get refused because the cops were so overworked, that'd make sense. But for the rest of the time they acted so damn stupid I can't believe they made Murphy into Robocop. He's the worst cop ever!

Also, Will from Unstoppable. We're supposed to feel bad about him not being able to see his wife and kid, until we find out he's a textbook paranoid abuser who threatened his cop friend with a gun. Well gee, that's what you get for being an abusive fuckface, asshole!

Yes, god, Unstoppable. I still want to see a sequel to tht movie made as a Lifetime made or TV movie where his wife can't get any help for his abuse because he's a national hero now.
