maybe they're not writing the character for you to identify with

maybe they're writing the character for them to identify with because they feel connected to the character and want more representation of their own sexuality

Then I hope they understand when I back button away from their fic and don't start lambasting me as a bigot because I don't love their interpretation of a character.

I have every right not to be interested in a particular story. I'd love to live in a world where people would never call me "something-phobic" over it. And current reality is, there are people who damn well would do that.
