I didn't even bother to read the rest of the thread for all the wank but I do understand what you mean. I'm all for and happy for the people who can find a label to identify themselves with (if they want one, anyway) but I seriously think some people get so bogged down in the terminology that they're blinded to the fact that they've completely lost the thread of what they were trying to express to begin with.

Personally, it pisses me off when someone tries to label me as one thing or another. I don't give a damn if it makes you feel good to label yourself but I'm not a fucking cow to be branded so you can fuck off with your 'clearly labeled' self. That, too, extends to my fic reading choices.
