I know a lot of people here have gotten fed up with Moffat and/or the show, and are either not going to watch the next season, or are only going to watch it so they don't have to catch up later (myself included).

Since my next-door neighbor (I live in a dorm) is planning on watching it anyway, I figured I could watch it with her and recap the episodes in a bare-bones way, with the intent of removing the need to watch through the whole season or marathon them all when a (subjectively) better showrunner/writer turns up and we're all happy with Doctor Who again (or at least have a different brand of problems to complain about).

Would this be worthwhile to anyone? Or would I just be wasting my time?

season 8? since the earliest it'll air is late summer, you might have different dorm neighbours by the time it finally comes on. but you could watch the two specials with her this fall/winter, why not?

I figured I would start with those if I did do this, yeah.

And honestly if people want me to do it then I would regardless; I like this community, and it's something I'd want someone else to do for me. So unless the idea is abhorrent, then why not?

You will have to possess nerves of steel to do this. The episode recaps on the TARDIS Wiki are a hot mess, and they are literally only bare-bones objective descriptions of what actually happens in each episode. Yet they still read like some sort of meth-fuelled merry-go-round of horror. And not the good kind of horror, even.

Really, the lack of any kind of coherent plot or even entertainment value to the episodes would make trying to recap one of them, be akin to feeling like Satan is trying to suck out your soul by way of your sinuses, IMO.

My advice to you is read the episode recaps at the TARDIS Wiki first, just to see what you're letting yourself in for, then make up your mind as to whether or not you want to do it.
