It is from a photo shoot for ... I am blanking here, but I want to say People ... that was totally staged. I may or may not still have a copy of said magazine buried somewhere in my stuff. Though rumor has it back in the day the two of them could not stand each other. Hearing that put a whole new light on that photo shoot for me because alt.tv.x-files went ga ga over it. :-P

I figured it was staged, but I really like the dynamic in it, the whole gender-role-reversal thing (which was kinda part of their dynamic in the series too). It's just surprisingly hot.

I hope that rumor wasn't true; even though I may not have been super interested in the idea of a romance between the characters, I friend-shipped the hell out of them, and it would be kind of sad if the actors didn't like each other.

Rolling Stone magazine. I am not an RPF shipper but I remember, back in the day when I first saw a variation of this on the cover, that they were "secretly in love omg", then I opened up to the photo spread inside and found Chris Carter on her other side - you can see a sprig of his unnatural hair in the capture above - and it let me down a little.

But man was that a great two minutes. :)
