Where did I say that? All I meant was that it's a bit late for casting people considering the films have already been shot for the most part, as far as I know.
And where does it say that Legolas is or isn't youngest? And do you really have to intervene and correct people on LotR canon at every single turn?

I mean, there's a bit of fanon that if he's not an only child, then Legolas is Thranduil's youngest.

If one were to cast those two guys as more of Thranduil's family, it'd mean Legolas is not the youngest son, and Thranduil's wife is still around too.

It's only fanon though - both Legolas being youngest and Thranduil's wife not being around (I know she's not mentioned in the Hobbit but, eh, Tolkien and female characters). I don't see why it should bother PJ or anyone else making the films.

I raise Fili and Kili a lot because the Dwarves are popular now. And they're brothers, so subject to issues raised about incest fic.

Personally, I ship Kili with Boromir.
