Still a canon, at least. I mean, canon for BBC Sherlock is not canon for ACD Holmes, and vice versa. They're reinterpretations/AUs, not continuations.

Is there a word for the big canons that have multiple adaptations/variations? Meta-canons? Something like that?

ACD Holmes is not a reinterpretation or an AU. It's the source of all other Holmes adaptations ever. It is the original. It's fair to say that ACD Holmes is, at least a little, more authoritative or authentic considering ACD did invent the character.

That being said, just because it's the inspiration for all the others doesn't mean that those others are wrong/bad/[insert other negative thing here] just because they aren't the original. And BBC!Sherlock is awesome in a million ways, so I don't know what OP's talking about...
