>>For me, becoming a jet-setting actor would be the true "lonely freakish existence."<<

This might be a bit off-topic now but I have always seen "big" actors like that. I could never understand why people would want to be like them. People investigate about your private life, they bitch about you on the internet and in gosspi magazines and paparazzi follow you around and disrespect you as a person. Then there's crazy stalker fans and crazy stalker haters. Lots of famous actors end up psychological wrecks because they can't deal with the constant attention anymore.
The only positive part about such a life would be having more money than others and possibly be more influential.
But you can achieve this in other jobs as well.

Tl;Dr: I think being a famous actor is a shitty thing to be ;)

I fully agree. It might be due to the fact that I used to read way too many tabloids and spent a few months too many on Oh No They Didn't!, but the way people are about celebs (and that includes paparazzi, fans, media, everyone), no way in hell would I want to be famous. Rich, yes, but not famous. And I'm already pretty private. The 24/7 would drive me mad.

I totally agree with you on the "rich but not famous" thing. I'd love to win Lotto (who wouldn't?), but wouldn't even want my name publicized about it.
