Parents who name their children like they'd name their dog sicken me.

Yeah, it's a neat sounding name. That they got from a space alien. On television.

I hope they gave her a decent middle name she can switch to when she's tired of dorks hassling her.

Edit: I thought the people you were talking about actually named the kid Lwaxana. Still: giving your kid a weird name just so people know how much you liked a tv show is downright mean to the kid. There are parents out there who think their kids are pets. A lot of them appear to be nerds.

Find another name, damn it. Or give the kid a the funny name as a middle name. Don't treat them like some kind of fucking walking fan project.

The people who used to live across the street had a kid whose middle name is Anakin. Their dog was named Jango.

Not Star Trek related, but I met a guy named Rael once. Yes, seriously. I had to wonder if his parents had actually, you know, listened to the album. :p

See, giving your kid a middle name like that is odd--but it's their middle name. They'll never have to deal with that during class attendance. It probably won't be on their driver's license.

I have a friend named Rael. I doubt he was named after that album.

The guy I met? He definitely was. I asked!
