The thing about RDJ is that, based solely on images of him, I wouldn't find him enormously attractive. He's okay, but I wouldn't squee over him the way I do over (for instance) Chris Evans.

However, RDJ has buckets of charisma. That's what makes him hot, more than anything about his looks. With that kind of charisma, all you need to do is not be actively ugly (and even then, there's some wiggle-room, as we've seen in some of the more controversial fansquee-magnets).

As someone else said, different strokes because I personally can't see anything about Evens to like.

My thoughts on RDJ are pretty much the same, I think he's okay looking but what really makes me notice him is his charisma because he does indeed have buckets of it.

Chris Evans however I find objectively attractive but not personally so. He's pretty adorable though.

I agree with this. There are a number of actors who are a lot more attractive in motion / in character than captured in a still frame.

I mean, personally, whenever I do see most images of him, I do find him incredibly attractive. But I am well aware that most of those are photoshopped and airbrushed intensely, and that RDJ himself presumably uses judicious amounts of cosmetic supplies for his own purposes - and that if we were to meet on the street, he would be just another "meh" middle-aged man to me.

So his appearance plays a big part for me - but definitely, it's also his personality and charisma, as well. Objectively, speaking, he's above average in attractiveness but really not much more than that.

Renner is definitely one of those "sexier in motion" type of guys. I didn't get what all the fuss was out leading up to Avengers--he looked kinda weird and squinty to me--but I left the movie with a new actor on my list of favorites.
