I know I usually say ship and let ship...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 12:34 am (UTC)(link)Hey, I do too
...but, yeah, the fact that this romance existed at all still bothered me because it felt like yet another way the movies marginalized female characters. There is like one serious real female character (are there any other female characters besides her and Amanda that say more than a single line in the first movie?), and she gets saddled with a romance which no other characters besides this couple have even a hint or indication of. >.<
So I don't really have a problem with the ship, so much as the fact there WAS a ship.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)I seem to remember, also, that her "hearing something in communications" in the first movie was the one information that essentially saved everyone. As for the scene with the Klingons, suffice to say that the mere fact she, alone, went talking to them well knowing they could torture her and kill her makes her a fucking badass queen.
