Having worked in child support and welfare for half of my life, seriously, no name could phase me.

The twins, Pompy and Besty? Sure.

The other twins, Lemonjello and Orangejello? No problem. A little harder to pronounce correctly (le-MAHN-dja-loh and or-AHNJ-a-loh), but yeah.

Tawny Bush and her sister, Rose? Well, someone wasn't thinking too hard with those names.

I had a list that was about ten pages long of unusual names when I left off working there.

Lizardo
Jolilorlyn
Hanstone

Those are a few of my faves from my job.

Poor Lizardo. -_-

Laugh while you can, monkey boy!

I know an Angelo and once said, "Oh let's ask Kyle or Angelo to do [something or other]" and had it misheard as Orange Jell-O. We still call him that sometimes.

I've [sort of] known an Angelo. He was an abusive asshole though.

See, i have no issues with leMAHNdjaloh, that's actually pretty cool. But who knows that it's pronounced like that? You see it written down and you think lemon jell-o. At least change the spelling.

I have a friend who does data entry involving names. She sends me the Best Of. Today's was Lynn Lemon, before that was Manly Emanuel, Rock Slaughter, and Wynsday,

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'm torn between liking and really, really disliking "Wynsday."

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Why is there always someone who pretends to have known "Lemonjello and Orangejello"? http://www.snopes.com/racial/language/names.asp

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Because there are always racists.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Way to be an assuming asshole. Maybe someone DID call their kid that. I've met worse, and that's white kids.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-13 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
There is NO evidence anywhere of the Jello twins. None. It's an urban legend with incredibly racist origins, although the more obvious racial aspects have been transferred to Le-a ("Ledasha, the dash don't be silent!")in recent years.
