Not the OP, but tried that already. Got mobbed with questions about why he's not my type and if he's not my type then what is my type and "omg do u even have a pulse if u dun think he's hawt??" and I decided I was done with RDJ fans because they're fucking stupid and obnoxious.

The entire fucking internet is the "wrong place" then because I've run into these little shits everywhere, without fail, so I can kind of understand if the OP is desperate for friends online in a fandom for one of his movies. Just try being in Marvel fandom and say you didn't really like him as Iron Man and see how fast you get flamed to a crisp or just plain ol' banned.

I'm sorry people were assholes to you and you have every right to be annoyed, but I'm also sure he has plenty of perfectly lovely fans and you weren't lucky enough to come across them. No one should be that invested in your personal preferences, and some people overreact.
