My problem with AOS is the fact that the characters have changed SO MUCH. And that the plotlines don't reference back to what Star Trek stood for in the first place (equality, space travel, not destroying civilizations in their youth or at least realizing the cost of what they did, more than just lens flare).

Also, people argue about all the things you just said. Just because Abrams and co created their own alternate reality doesn't mean that they can't treat women in better in this history or make a movie that isn't almost exactly like the first one or white wash. I still like the movies for what they are (action flick), but they have major problems.
