My mom got fired from her job for a very similar situation - not sexual harassment, but hostile workplace - someone walked by and overheard her saying "She's such a fucking moron, I wish she'd just die so we didn't have to deal with her." Because my mom had been having performance issues with one of her subordinates, they presumed she was talking about said subordinate (who was at lunch). While camped on my couch and looking for a new job, she told me she was actually talking about the boss' wife (who was trying to get her husband to work less, at the expense of everyone else working more), but she couldn't really say that to her boss.

I had remarkably little compassion (except for supporting her ass for the next 18 months) and was all "Well, i guess you won't wish death upon people at your next job."
