Good news, bad news

[personal profile] tamabonotchi 2013-09-14 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The good news is, I have a job interview for tomorrow!

The bad news is, they wanted my SS card when I only have my number! Looks like another fall-through.

Share your news

THIS IS FIXABLE: and You know most jobs want SS cards right?

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2013-09-14 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
They need it in HR.

Go get a goddamn replacement if you lost yours! Explain the situation! Even if this falls through, you will need it for the next one! How did you let this be a problem? FIX IT!

I pretty much had no documents (thanks mom & dad) and have been slowly getting stuff like my birth certificate and an ID.

I've told them about it and said I'm in the process of getting it.
None of the other places have asked about it so it's slipped my mind.

I'm assuming you don't have a passport then, but if you do, I think that can be used instead of an SS card for hiring purposes.

I've found out that in a month or so I'm almost certainly going to be leading a parade of nearly a hundred and fifty people.

I am terrible at marching.

Looking forward to the three days of getting screamed at by a drill instructor and missing lunch.

Good news: I just entered a school I really really wanted to attend.
Bad news: 50 hours of class per week. Won't I keel over and die before I get my diploma?

Good news, I was just given free reign over the social media at my internship.

Bad news, I still don't have a paying job.

If my boss totally screwed up like we think he did we're all losing our jobs. Yay

Can't say I have good news however :(

I think my Dad is going to ask for a lot of money and I'm trying to find a nice way to let him down.

(He's not in debt, he makes more than me, he's just been putting it all into a big hobby and I think he wants more for the hobby because he's asking my baby house savings. Haha no. No. I'm actually really hoping my job promotion next year will let me get a tiny house, noooooooooooooooooooooooo)

gained a lot of weight in the 4 weeks I've been on the implant. I'm talking about 11 lbs here. I'm upping my exercise, but if that doesn't fix it I may need to try something else...

Go to your local SoSec office today, in person. They can send you one in less than a week and give you a notarized document indicating as such that should be sufficient for HR for that time (like temporary tags on a car)

The good news is that the people I worked for this summer sent me a check for $260.

The bad news is that I'm positive I'm not entitled to it.

And seconding what everyone else has said--find your nearest Social Security office and apply for a replacement card. Make sure to ask for a receipt; your HR department will want it. You should get the replacement within a week to 10 days.
