Well it probably is degrading for the woman, even if the actual filmed stuff is fairly mediocre. The porn system is one big abuse machine. It produces pornographic materials and broken women.

I have sirius radio, which includes Radio Sex, a station hosted by actual porn starts of present and past. These are the well adjusted folks who did fine and are doing fine, and they lend a good perspective as they do talk about this stuff after having been on the inside.

This is a simplification but basically you have two main types of girl in porn: The girl who likes sex and wants to have as much of it as she can (or at least is fine with lots and lots) and ohhh, you can get paid for this? Fuck yeah! Those are the ones, largely, that are now doing the radio hosting and such.

Then there are the ones who are there becauase they feel they HAVE to be. they have mental damage, a drug problem (or get a drug problem by self medicating), have made mistakes in life and see no other way to make the money. These are the ones that get fucked up, or are made moreso then they started.

It's not necessarily that the system doesn't care (though that happens) but sometimes, especially with the mentally damaged ones, you can't tell the difference between the two types of girls for a while. Though usually within a year or two the ones who are in the second category burn out or have something bad happen and are out. Or they do fix themselves and realize they hate what they are doing, getting out okay but still with a lot of regrets.

It is better then it used to be though. Thanks to testing and whatnot, STD's are actually very tightly controlled so at least on the health end things are pretty safe.
