I'm going back to doing verbal tics

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I have OCD/ADHD with Verbal tics (my last doctor said it was Tourette's) and for the longest time I managed to stop doing verbal tics...and now i'm going back to it. I don't want to go back to that I hated it but just...the impulses and anxiety are strong.

I'm afraid of getting a job and being fired because of this. :

Go back to your doctor and get all of this in writing or a referral to a specialist to discuss it further.

Familiarize yourself with your rights at work. There are laws in most countries that would prevent someone for being fired over an existing medical issue (I would check whether your laws require you to inform your employer at the interview stage and also what they are allowed to ask you about your medical fitness at that point so that you know ahead of time).

I'm sorry this is making you so anxious. Job hunting is hard enough without health concerns.

All the best, nonny.

Thank you very much. I'll remember this (we're still looking for a new doctor.)
