I mean, it's probably not universal, but I have only one full functioning hand in terms of fine motor skills and I sew all the time. It helps my good hand remain more fit and yeah, you can thread a needle with one hand - if you can't manage the line-up for the pincusion trick, most sewing kits come with a needle threading tool that works one-handed.
