This topic was discussed about a 1,000,000,000 times already. Many people read fanfiction because they want more stuff about canon characters. They don't want OC-centric stories.
OCs as minor/secondary characters=OK, OCs as main protagonists=needs to be indicated.

That being said, I think this secret is very pretty.

That might be the settings on your computer - it's rather pleasant to look at on mine, but I could see other monitors displaying it rather horridly.

Nope, it's the jpeg artifacts. They're pretty awful. This is what happens when you save a jpeg at less than 100% quality. In most images you can't see it as much but when you have big solid blocks of color like this it's very apparent.

Seriously.

The only thing that gets rid of pixilation like that is vectoring graphics programs and maybe high end photoshop that can work in ultra HD. Those are $$$$$

Definition is lost uploading to some sites and being displayed on DW or LJ anyways.
