I feel kind of the same way, although for me it's more in relation to global political drama. I think it's really a good thing to be able to put a sort of cute, silly human face on any country inasmuch as it reminds you that the people who live there are just . . . people.

/ I have so many Middle East OCs, seriously.

I agree.
When I was first introduced to Hetalia I was afraid my country would be the same old negative stereotype I so often see on TV, but that wasn't the case and so I started reading the web comics and started to love the entire concept.
I don't particulalrly like my country, I'm the opposite of a patriot, but I sure love the Hetalia version.
