Personally I find a well written OC fic a lot more interesting than a fic with just canon characters. If I wanted canon characters I'd just watch the show or read the book.

We're just reading fic for different reasons and there's nothing wrong with that.

Absolutely. Canon characters are where all fanfic start from after all.

I just wish people (not saying you're doing it) would realize that different fics meet different tastes and quit with the blanket judgments about some kinds of fics as if they speak for all people.
